Skills Development Program (SDP)

The SDP (Bunnies and Jackrabbits) is for kids aged 4-9 years old and is focused on having fun on skis while working on building FUNdamental movements and motor skills.

This program runs through the winter months (January – March) and relies heavily on volunteer coaches.

Youth Racing Programs

Our Track Attack and Junior Racing programs are aimed at continuing to build the FUNdamentals of skiing, working on racing tactics and developing proficiency at both skate and classic technique.

Both programs offer kids the opportunity to travel out of town with the team to races regionally, provincially and even nationally. Fun is still at the forefront of these programs as is the importance of building a good team atmosphere and supporting each other.

Youth Rec Program

The Winter Fit program is designed for kids who love to ski and be active but don’t want to compete. We strive to provide

programming for all youth; including those who want to get outside and enjoy nature on skis. This is a trial program that will only
run if there are enough registrants and coaches for the program.

Additional Information

Coaching Courses for Parents

In order for our programs to thrive and be able to continue running, we really need parents every year to take these courses and help out with coaching. The Community Coaching course (see below) focuses on technique so it is a great way to improve your own skiing skills too!

Courses are free for club members willing to volunteer. Learn More!

Financial Assistance

Want a little help with the fees for your child’s cross-country ski program? Cross-country skiing is one of many sports funded by JumpStart.

Click here to find out more and apply for funding!

Parent Volunteers

We need a minimum of one parent per family to volunteer in some capacity with our youth programs: coaching, fundraising (Track Attack & Junior Racers), parent -helper, serving hot chocolate, phoning, or organizing an event (i.e., race committee).

You can choose on the registration form or the coach/coordinator will reach out to you. Thanks!
